12 days until production! Don’t panic!!!!!

PRODUCTION

Important information:

  • Children’s dinners must be ordered by Tuesday 12th September. Sorry no late orders can be taken.
  • Each teacher should have communicated with you around the make-up requirements for your child on the night. If you are unsure please make contact with them asap.
  • The children are able to arrive late the day after each performance. They do need to arrive by 10.30am if they are going to attend school.
  • If your child is unable to perform for any reason PLEASE contact your child’s teacher to let them know as they will have to reconfigure dances and stage positions to accommodate this.
  • We will be using special lighting (not strobe lighting) during the performance.
  • Please ensure all toddlers are under your control during the performances i.e. sitting on their seat or on your knee.
  • Please do not stand up in the aisles or at the back during the performance and these areas are being used by our actors.
  • Teachers will be in contact with you after our full dress rehearsal next week to let you know a suitable pick up time after they have performed.
  • The performance will start at 6.30pm and will be approx 2 hours long. There will be a short intermission half way through the show.
  • Friday 22nd September is the last day of term 3. Teachers will be tidying up after the production so any learners at school will be doing busy work as the teachers tidy. School closes at 2pm on Friday 22nd September.

Where do I take my child and pick them up from after each performance night?

BAYVIEW SCHOOL OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS

If you live out of our school zone and would like your child to attend Bayview School in 2024, please note that our out of zone enrolments went live on Monday 4th September. You can find the form on our website or can get one from the school office. Please note we are only offering 20 out of zone places for 2024.

If we receive more than 20 applications we will have to go to a ballot according to the following priorities (set by the Ministry of Education).

Applicants are accepted in this order:

  1. First priority must be given to any applicant who is accepted for enrolment in a special programme (please note this does not apply at Bayview School).
  2. Second priority must be given to any applicant who is the sibling of a current student of the school.
  3. Third priority must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.
  4. Forth priority must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.
  5. Fifth priority must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the board or a child of a member of the board of the school.
  6. Sixth priority must be given to all other applicants.

If the Board receives fewer applications than there are places available, all applicants will be enrolled.

If you currently live within our school zone and have a child starting school at any time during the 2024 academic year, please fill in the intention to enrol form on our website to help us with future planning.

Our enrolment zone can be found on our website or there is a copy in the office.

SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY

A huge thank you to everyone who managed to come and support the children as they ran the school cross country. We always love seeing you in the school!

Thank you to Katrina Cray and Adelaine Arias for running the senior and junior cross country races/events.

Our winners of the senior races are competing in the interschool cross country tomorrow! We know you join us in wishing them the best of luck and fast legs!

DAFFODIL DAY

One of our strengths is empowering our learners to make a difference for others. This year Ben Norman and Mathias Sofaea organised and ran our annual Daffodil Day appeal. It makes me extremely proud when our children step up and make the world a better place! Well done Ben and Mathias and thank you Bayview community for getting behind this cause and supporting the boys! We managed to raise $454.40 which will go to the Cancer Society.

CONGRATATIONS

Congratulations to our boys year 5/6 hockey team who won their grade after defeating Torbay 6-3 on Monday night. Over the 14 week season they only lost once and were the team with the highest total number of goals scored.  They showed exceptional sportsmanship, teamwork and commitment every single week. They were so proud of themselves! They had a fantastic season and were amazing representatives of Bayview School.

Players were – William Rouse (H17), Nathan Roberts (H18), Cayden Wordsworth (H19), Rhys Withy (H19), Ethan Yu (H18), Daniel Russell (H18), Matthew Staples (H17) and Ryan Chen from Windy Ridge School.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR PARENT HELPERS

A huge thank you to all our parents, caregivers and friends of Bayview School who have been able to support us this term with the variety of events we have or are holding. We are so incredibly lucky to have such a supportive community working with us in partnership to give our learners a range of opportunities.

A special thank you to the parents who came and helped with our production working bee on Friday 1st September. We really appreciate you giving us your time! The hall has never looked so clean, thank you!

NEW LEARNERS JOINING BAYVIEW SCHOOL
