Kia ora Team Bayview

Production is getting closer and our teachers and learners are working incredibly hard to pull everything together! We have been so lucky this year to have so much support from our community. This year we have a sound and lighting technician from the film industry working on our lights and sound!

Thank you to everyone who has offered their time and skills to support us. We could not do this without you as it takes a village!

Please note we are having a matinee performance on Monday 15th September. We have invited Bayview Kindergarten, Bayview Early Learning Centre, the Glenfield Intermediate School students who helped paint props and make costumes, Manuka Primary School senior school, some of the Glenfield College performing arts students, and some community groups through the community centre.

Please ensure your child has everything they need for this performance i.e. costume requirements.

Important Production information:

  • Orders for  T-shirts and children’s dinners close on the 9th September (next Tuesday).
  • If you have ordered a dinner for your child the night of production (or each night) it will be distributed to your child’s home room at 5pm on the performance nights.
  • Each teacher should have communicated with you around the make-up requirements for your child on the night. If you are unsure please make contact with them asap.
  • The children are able to arrive late the day after each performance. They do need to arrive until 10am if they are going to attend school. If they are not going to attend school please send through an absence form via our website.
  • If your child is unable to perform for any reason PLEASE contact your child’s teacher to let them know as they will have to reconfigure dances and stage positions to accommodate this.
  • We will be using special lighting (not strobe lighting) during the performance.
  • Please ensure all toddlers are under your control during the performances i.e. sitting on their paid seat or on your knee.
  • You must have a ticket to be able to get into the hall.
  • Please fill up all the seats as the shows will be sold out!
  • Please do not leave the hall in the middle of the performance. There is a half time for a toilet stop.
  • Please remember all NZ schools are smoke and vape free so please do not smoke on school grounds.
  • Please do not stand up in the aisles or at the back during the performance as these areas are being used by our actors.
  • Turn your mobile on silent during the performance!
  • Teachers will be in contact with you regarding when you would be able to pick your child up after they have performed. Please note this will either be during the intermission or at 8.30am after the show.
  • The performance will start at 6.30pm and will be approx 2 hours long. There will be a short intermission half way through the show.
  • The hall doors will open at 6.10pm.
  • Friday 19th September is the last day of term 3. Teachers will be tidying up after the production so any learners at school will be doing busy work as the teachers tidy. School closes at 2pm on Friday 19th September.
