Kia ora Team Bayview
The countdown is on! There are 26 days until our first evening performance of ‘Kaitiaki o Oruamo’. Our kids are fizzing as the excitement builds and our staff are manically working on costumes, teaching dances, sorting makeup, making and painting props for their scene all while maintaining a solid class programme. If you can help in any way please contact your child’s teacher, they would love to hear from you!
OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS
Our out of zone enrolments open on Monday 1st September. If you live out of our school zone and would like to enrol your child at Bayview School to start in 2026, you will need to complete an out of zone enrolment. Forms can be found on our website or you can contact Shannon in the office and she will be able to help you. Please note if your child is already enrolled you do not need to reapply.
IN-ZONE ENROLMENTS
We’re planning for 2026. Please complete an intention to enrol form if your child will be starting at Bayview School during 2026. This will help us ensure we are staffed appropriately. You can find the intention to enrol form on our website.
ATTENDANCE
Did you know that any child that arrives at school after the 9am bell is recorded as late to school? Children who are late miss out on the set-up for the day including our daily notices. This means they may miss out on opportunities to join sports groups or special school events. We recommend getting your child to school by 8.45am so they have time to greet their friends and to organise themselves for the day.
PAID UNION MEETINGS
We have a paid union meeting coming up on Wednesday the 27th August. All our union members (the majority of our staff) will be attending this meeting at North Harbour Stadium. You are welcome to pick your child up early at 1pm if you would like to. The 8 staff members left will be supervising all the children not able to be picked up at 1pm, in the hall. They will be watching the 2023 School Production ‘The Night the Books Spoke’. Any children who stay at school can be picked up from the hall at 3pm. Thank you for your support as we fight for quality in our education system.
BOARD ELECTIONS
Please make sure you cast your vote in the School Board elections. All eligible voters have been sent an email with voting details.
All votes are due by Wednesday 10th September.
