PARTNERSHIP MEETINGS

In the last week of term 1 we will be holding partnership meetings. You will be invited by your child’s teacher to make a time to come in and learn about the progress your child has made this term and how they are as a learner. This is a great opportunity to find out if your child is on track to meet the expectations in the current NZ curriculum. The teacher will reach out soon to invite you to make a time to meet. They will do this through Seesaw.

WELCOME TO OUR NEW LEARNERS

Welcome to these fabulous new learners who have joined us this year:

Celeste CHAN, Liam MARTIN-SANDERS, Emma MARTIN-SANDERS, Yara LIANG

DISCO

We are very excited to be holding a Disco which will be on Friday 27th of March, 5-6:30pm.

At the Disco there will be face painting, music, outdoor games, sausages for sale and much more. Please note that this event is intended for Bayview students only. If a younger sibling is attending with their family then they will need to have a ticket purchased for them. Older siblings are strictly there as helpers. If they wish to attend this must be arranged prior to the night by emailing Miss McGuire ([email protected]) or they risk being asked to leave.

Costs:

$8 – entry + a glow stick

$15 – entry + a glow stick, a lolly bag, a drink and bag of chips

$10 – Disco Card

We are adding a new system this year called the disco cards! How it works: instead of giving your child money to bring to the disco, you can prepay for 5 items. These items are anything at the disco including food, activities and games! You can buy multiple disco cards if you wish for your child to have more than 5 items. Remaining items will not be refunded after the disco however you can hold onto them and use any remaining items for the next disco if you wish. We will still have cash sales available. You can pay for the tickets and items through Ezlunch or in cash through the class pink box. The theme for the disco is Cartoon Characters. So come dressed up as your favourite one!

Please remember the children are not allowed to walk home but rather must be picked up from the hall.

SHOWQUEST 2026

This year, we are entering another team into the Auckland Showquest competition. Elleen Davids has already started vital work on this with a committed group of learners. They are practicing regularly giving their all!

We are so proud of our learners who are trying lots of different things and taking up new opportunities.

SCHOOL POLICIES:

School policies are the responsibility of the Bayview School Board. We use School Docs for our school policies as they are regularly reviewed by experts to ensure they comply with current legislation. There is a 3 year cycle for review and each term School Docs indicate which policies are due for review. Under each policy sits procedures around how the school enacts the policy. These are the responsibility of the Principal and Leadership team.

Policies can be found at: www.schooldocs.co.nz

(Username: Bayview  Password: icare)

The Term One Review is now open. This term we are reviewing some of the policies in the Safety On and Off School Grounds section. For more information go to the school docs website, find the ‘Current Review’ tab at the top of the SchoolDocs site.

Here is a summary of the current reviews:

  • Alcohol, Drugs, and other harmful substances policy
  • Sun Protection
  • Digital Technology and Online Safety
  • Cellphones and Other Personal Digital Devices

Parents are also able to provide feedback on any policies currently being reviewed. To do so click on the ‘Start your Review’ button.

You can find instructions on how to submit reviews by going to the ‘Reviews’ tab on our schools dashboard and look for ‘Instructions for reviewers’.
