Kia ora Team Bayview
Welcome back to the last term of the 2025 school year! It is a jam-packed term as we reflect on the year, determine next steps and celebrate all the wonderful things that have happened over 2025! Keep an eye on our school calendar on the website as well as updates on Seesaw or through the newsletter. We have already had to change some dates due to clashes with other schools or community events.
This term teachers will be very busy assessing your child to determine how much progress they have made over the year and to determine their achievement levels ready for the end of year report. It is very important that your child attends school every day so they can continue to make progress to reach achievement levels.
OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENTS
Our out of zone enrolments are now closed and the successful applicants should have already received a confirmation letter from Shannon.
ENROLMENT MEETINGS
Enrolment meetings with our transitions leader, Kara Napier, are being held on Tuesday 4th November and Thursday 6th November. New 5 year olds who are starting at Bayview School in term 1 2026 will be invited to come and meet with Kara and complete the full enrolment procedure.
STRIKE NOTIFICATION
Please note that all primary teachers who are union members will be on strike on Thursday 23rd October. The Bayview Board has decided that due to health and safety reasons the school will be CLOSED during the strike.
LIBRARY STOCKTAKE
On Friday the 21st November we have our library stocktake. Please make sure you have returned all library books by this date to avoid receiving an invoice for replacement costs.
WELLNESS
You will be aware of current measles cases in both Northland and Queenstown. At the end of this newsletter I have attached some information to support you.
There is also some information about scabies which is rearing it’s head at the moment.
