Our Autumn Walk

Room 3 were full of excitement when we went on a walk around our school and neighbourhood in the first week of this term, to look for signs of Autumn. We played in the autumn leaves under the huge tree at the school gate and enjoyed throwing them in the air and letting them fall. We looked at the colours of the leaves and listened to the sounds they made when we walked through them. We searched for pinecones and acorns.

Our Magic Potion

On Thursday the 3rd of November Room 3 made some magic potions. We were learning how to be scientists. Scientists observe. They look, listen, smell, taste and touch. They make predictions and they find things out. We put vinegar in a cup. We put food colouring in and then we poured baking soda in. We thought it would explode. It was bubbly and looked like foam. It overflowed onto the concrete. We liked it. It was exciting!

Our Gingerbread Men

Recently Room 3 made some gingerbread men as part of our shared reading of the traditional tale – The Gingerbread Man. The children then wrote about the process.
